Strengths Campus

fostering a community of people interested in exploring strengths

From the JustSell blog - a quote from my favorite contemporary author:

“Talent is a dreadfully cheap commodity, cheaper than table salt. What separates the talented individual from the successful one is a lot of hard work and study." – Stephen King

If you've worked for any time with strengths you know that talent is just the seed, the beginning. Lots of potential in talent, but nothing else. Hanging on to a talent label without exercising it, is a huge waste.

Look at your StrengthsFinder themes and your Strengths Statements and purposefully apply them. Exercise your "strengths muscles" every day. Don't wait for opportunities to use them, MAKE opportunities.

Oh yeah - I especially enjoyed the last section in "On Writing" where SK gave readers a glimpse into the crazy editing process his work undergoes between the first draft and final page.

Stephen King is a stud. I don't always love his stories, but there are many I do. His book "on writing" was one of the most inspirational things I've ever read and I am nowhere near being a writer. Anyone who considers themselves a creative - I consider it a must read.
