There is nothing so useless as doing efficiently that which should not be done at all. ~Peter Drucker
Are you doing anything in your work that really doesn't merit doing? Remember what the "S" stands for in Marcus's "STOP" strategy for dealing with weaknesses: Stop doing the activity and see if it really affects anything. This week's challenge: take a look at your recurring weekly tasks and see if any of them are really unnecessary. If so, save your most valuable resource — time — and stop doing them.
HI Charlotte! I love this step in STOP--- one way to make this a bit easier is when you are doing a task that depletes you, ask yourself "who is benefitting from what I am doing?"-- who is reading what I am preparing, who is waiting for the info I am compiling, etc. Sometimes, we realize that we are spending time on an activity that isn't for the good of the team, organization, leadership, etc. By probing a bit further, you can see that "STOPPING" will have little to no impact! ;-)
