I’ve always found this statement inspiring, because I love the challenge it presents. It can be tempting, when faced with adversity, to stick your head in the sand and just hope the situation resolves itself. But that never really works, does it? I’ve found that even when I can’t see my way past an obstacle or a challenge, looking at it head-on leaves me feeling more in control than when I try to ignore it. I think of these words often and I continue to be galvanized by the realism and practicality of the sentiment.

My challenge to you this week is to ask yourself:

  • What is the main thing in my life that I’m not facing? and
  • What two steps can I take to face it head on and deal with it?
