- I have had wonderful opportunities to re-invent myself because my husband is a pastor and we have moved 3 times in our lives. I was a great teacher in two different states and now I am a vocational consultant who's grant got cut and I get to reinvent myself again. This time I have been reading about my strengths since I saw Marcus Buckingham at Women of Faith in Spokane and have a real edge to find my dream job!

Lots has happened!
September 26, 2011 I was officially hired at Evergreen Employment Services as an Employment Development Specialist at Frontier Behavioral Health (presently operating as Spokane Mental Health). What a mouthful! Anyway it is a 6 month grant in supported employment for those who would like to consider employment as part of their recovery plan. THAT is why I haven't posted in such a long time! (Not to mention that I am presently enrolled at the University of Maryland - online - in a one year…

Lotsa changes!
My private social services company just got the Work First grant for the entire state of New Mexico! Pretty neat! Now more than ever I would love to nail the Director of Training and Development job in the company. The ACTIVATOR in me says, "Let's get started!" The MAXIMIZER says, "With this great bunch of folks at SL Start working to their strengths most of the time, that job would be AWESOME!

Just took the SET!
Woo hoo! 95 & 93! The problem is my job is disappearing because the Feds cut our grant. Last day is Sept. 30, 2011. HOWEVER...my family is at the end of a WONDERFUL two week rejuvenation/vacation, and when I go back I will have an interview for a new job in the company. From reading all of the Strengths stuff, it feels like it would be a fabulous fit doing more of what I am strong at. I pray I get it!

This is my first post. I first found out about "strengths" at Women of Faith in Sept. 2010 in Spokane, WA. I have since watched the Oprah stuff, read "Find Your Strongest Life" (and passed on the info to a client who really needed it!) and just finished "Now, Discover Your Strengths" and am almost done with "First, Break All the Rules." I just bought "Go, Put Your Strengths to Work" while I'm on a two week vacation visiting family. I'll write more later,… Continue

- Hi Sandra, thanks for connecting. Good luck with landing that Director of Training and Development job. I will cross my fingers for you. We're back in NL just 4 weeks now. We lived in South Africa for 3 years and now we're in NL again. I haven't done any speeches, saw any clients or attended any workshops or network events in 2 months and I can tell you I have withdrawal symptoms to get in touch with more people again. ;-)
