"The Talent Code" - Daniel Coyle

I highly recommend this book. In "Now, Discover Your Strengths," Marcus and Don do a fantastic job of explaining our brain development and how our firing synapses create T1 lines; leading to our talent themes.  Coyle goes a bit further, with the help of scientific discovery, by breaking down how talent is developed in our brains through the use of Myelin. He describes Myelin as an insulator, capable of creating T3 lines.  He explains that through the continued firing of synapses,…See More

"Priceless" - Joe. Amazing R&B singer.

Beautiful song in its message that no matter where you are from you are priceless. Great production, harmonies and melodies; which Joe is known for in the industry.

U.S. Strengths? Macro Strengths?

Sipping my coffee this morning, I had a thought about macro strengths. Clearly, on a micro, or individual level, strengths work is profound and specific. Could strengths work be expanded to include groups, or nations? As I try to build a strong week by focusing on tasks that make me strong, could the U.S. do the same? Can we identify industries we love and loathe and focus, on this Valentine's day, on ones we love? If we could assess the U.S., using our existing strengths language, what would…See More

Strengths Essentials Workshop

I just had a chance to facilitate the Strengths Essentials Workshop in Dallas last week.  Full class of 25.  It went great, as usual.  It's great to watch people go from a general sense of what

their talent themes are, to a practical sense of describing their strengths specifically.

We laughed that saying your strengths statement out loud is like AA in reverse.  It's pretty funny how passively some people read their statements out loud.  Maybe some people are bashful…

Thank you Jim Seybert!

Jim,

I really appreciate you spending some time with us this morning.

Your thoughts and passion around the Strengths Essentials workshop is very helpful as we get ready to teach it to our Company.

Love that! We will be releasing the second workshop in a box "STOP your Weaknesses" (which is the next in the series) in Feb of next year and the final "Strong Teams" in August - so it will be a super comprehensive series that you can roll out! That said, the first one is a great standalone. Please let us know if you want to discuss this further. Kristi Pavel (kristi.pavel@tmbc.com) does this with a ton of our clients....
